Counselling Center 2009-2010

- Re-oriented the activities of the centre in the wake of the re-structured U.G. Programme. Seminars on “ soft skills” were conducted for the freshers irrespective of the programme opted. Individual counseling was provided for those who needed guidance related to personal as well as learning difficulties.
- Seminar on “Stress Management” was conducted for P.G students- first and third semester- on 27th July 2009. Resource person wasVilli Jose, Counsellor, Family counselling centre, Thrissur.
- Seminar on “Life Skills” for U.G and P.G students was conducted by the counsellor, Villi Jose, on 14th August 2009.
- Talk on “Lateral Thinking – out of the process thinking”, was delivered on 11th January 2010 for final U.G students. Resource Persons were Sunil Thomas and Anjitha Lekshmi of Leads Academy, Thrissur, famous family counsellors.
- A proposal for a family counselling centre was submitted to the U.G.C , based on of request from the students to tackle their family problems.
- Family counselling sessions were scheduled for Anu, II B.A Economics on 25th – 27th January 2010. The sessions were attended by her father and mother. The unrest within the family was alleviated to a great extend.
Future Plan
- Conducting classes on Value Education to the entire students.
- Seek the service of a counsellor from Family Counselling Centre to help the students to sort out their family problems.
- Conducting a seminar on “Accelerated Learning”.
Counselling Centre- AIMS

- Identify students requiring counselling by arranging personal contacts and through the group tutorial system.
- Arrange awareness programmes, lectures, discussions, interviews and seminars.
- Provide counselling services by arranging specialists.
- Establish linkages with the nearby counselling centres.
- Devise scientific systems for identifying needy students for counselling.
